9 - 12 Work Sample Introduction

Work Sample Introduction 9-12
There is a lot of competition for jobs in the workplace. Often when an employer has many people applying for a single job opening, s/he needs a way to distinguish one job candidate from another. Why should an employer select you over another job applicant? You need to bring extra work samples and letters of recommendation with you to a job interview. This will help to prove to the employer that you have the skills and abilities that you write about in your job application.

Start collecting outstanding pieces of work that you have done. These work samples can include: photographs, videotapes, CD-ROMs, Power Point presentations, written work, art work, programs, posters, or any other work that demonstrates your skills and abilities for the job market. Keep this portfolio up to date. Continue to add newer, better pieces of work, and delete older, less sophisticated pieces of work.
